It’s a Players Holiday…

One of my favorite cuts outta the bay… before everybody got super hyphy, T.W.D.Y. (Ant Banks outta Oakland) invited some folks and got down with a “Players Holiday. (featuring Too $hort & Mac Mall) I don’t know about you, but with the summer well ahead of its peak, this lad back jam is hitting the iPOD hard right next to Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince’s “Summertime” and Naughty by Natures “Feel me Flow!” Happy Memorial day folks!

Kid Sister feat. Kanye West “Pro Nails”

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 22nd, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

My current favorite video and single of the moment… “Pro nails.” Kid Sister is the shit… plain and simple. KanYe and A-Trak’s got her back and everybody’s excited for her upcoming album Koko B. Ware. Dude, Kim and Foxy ain’t got shit on Kid Sister!

…Get rich to this!

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 22nd, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

I wish it were that easy… Gettin’ rich in da club with the likes of the Goodie Mob! Catchy hook with a twisted beat I sometimes wish were a reality, especially with the state of our economy. My ideal vision… goin’ to the club with hundreds of bills raining down on the crowd! “Get rich to this” (off the 1999 “World party” Goodie Mob album) bumps a fierce beat and features Big Boi from OutKast. The hook is real catchy and drifts away from getting the ladies to get nasty. Who doesn’t wanna get rich to this?

Charlie Murphy invented Hip-Hop’s Backpack Rap!

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 15th, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

I had to plug this amusing video featuring Charlie Murphy… yep, he’s down with Duck Down Records! I was checking out The Bootcamp Clik’s myspace page and came across 9th Wonder and Buckshot’s recent video “Go all out” that had Charlie Murphy breaking down how Black Moon had developed there backpack style back in the days… check it out, the skits pretty amusing and the single is off the chain!

Buckshot & 9th Wonder “Hold it down” (feat. Talib Kweli)

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 14th, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

One of my favorite cuts off of Buckshot & 9th Wonder’s new album “The Formula.” Featuring Talib Kweli, “Hold it down’s” got that jazzy vibe 9th wonder holds true in his production with Buck and Talibkilling it verse for verse. I love the laid back approach of the single with the lyrics and beats just vibin’ together. Don’t sleep on “The Formula” Duckdown’s hot ticket!

“Driving down the block” with Kidz in the Hall…

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 14th, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

The single is hot to def… but the vid is straight low budget!

You gotta love Kidz in the Hall’s presence in Hip-Hop. Young, talented, they choose the right beats (thanks to Double-O) and conjure up lyrical wizardry.(courtesy of Naledge) There’s no question that their new album “The In crowd” is gonna catch heads spinning. I like to think of these cats as the underground version of The Clipse boasting the same formula that made them popular. Cool kids ain’t got shit on Naledge’s mic skills and Double-O on the beats is a refreshing vibe Hip-Hop heads have been asking for bridging the gap between hype and credibility. “Drivin’ Down the Block”, which samples Masta Ace’s song “Born to Roll” is a nice addition to the summer time anthems of 08.

The saga continues… “Triumph” (1997)

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 10th, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

Wu-Tang Forever was the name of the game in 1997 and boy did it have a big impact on the Music Industry. Although I would have been happier with a single disc release over the double album, …Forever had it’s shining moments (and a handful of filler tracks…) Triumph was a big success that created an even bigger following for the Wu. I was so amused at radio stations trying to add it onto their playlists because the track was so ahead of it’s tiime, there was no comparison to the sugar coated comercial tracks flooding the airwaves back in 97′. Big up to Triumph’s special effects of that time- the video felt like a blockbuster summer hit!

We run things… (It’s like that ya’ll!)

Oh yea! Another slammin’ Hip-Hop anthem from the mid 90’s. This time around we get a shout out to Hip-Hop from the more under appreciated Bush Babees whose affiliations included The Native Tongues and Mos Def. With a mixture of both Hip-Hop and reggae, Da’ Bush Babees consisted of Babe-B-Face Kaos (later Lee Majors), Mister Man (later Mr. Khaliyl) and Y-Tee. Another personal favorite, the cut is straight chill representing Hip-Hop to its fullest form by not mixing in champagne glasses and expensive rides. The Bush Babees took control of their destiny and with that, have blessed the masses with a top choice anthem worth of respect… “It’s like that!”

“1nce again”… with A Tribe Called Quest! (1996)

Posted in Music Videos by T-Money 600 on the May 1st, 2008 | Digg It! . Del.icio.us

Oh how I long for another Tribe called Quest album. The time couldn’t be better for one. Shoot, the masses need one! An ideal Tribe called Quest album could be be handled by Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed but if they had a choice in extending the production, the sounds of KanYe, Neptunes, 9th Wonder and even Timbaland would greatly be appreciated. (I would truly love to hear any of that!) I’d even add Madlib, ?uestlove and J. Dilla to that list talent. I can’t believe it’s been decade since we’ve been blessed with a ATCQ album and I truly miss the creativeness the trio brought to their following. What ever the beef may be, squash it and get back to the studio!

Once Again was one of my favorite singles during the summer of 1996. I know Tribes “Beats rhymes and life” album took a lot of slack for not delivering but to it’s true supporters, I thought it was a strong album boasting future sounds heads back than were not ready for. Once again was a fun song to straight vibe off of. Sit back and enjoy it!
