Che Grand - Swing

New single from Che Grand - Swing
Missy Elliot - Best Best

Missy’s new album Block Party is set to be released in September 9 this year. For now, here’s a lil’ taste of what’s to come.
The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NiggyTardust!

“The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of NigyTardust!” is the newest piece of work from Saul Williams produced by none other than Trent Reznor of NIN fame. This album is a free download or you can pay $5 and get a higher bit rate at 320kbps, which I think is worth it, plus the $5 goes to support the artist. Either way it’s a must to download this album to listen to the production of Trent Reznor with Saul William’s powerful voice over it all. Enjoy!
Happy Friday!
VH1 Hip Hop Honors . TONIGHT
The Hip Hop Honors #1 draw is when they have the new school cats do the old school tunes. That’s really the only reason why I watch it. This clip from tonight’s show looks BANANAS! A tribute to Scenario featuring Common, Pharrell, Lupe and surprise guest at the end of the clip. Peep it. I wish I was there to witness the madness.
Tonight they’ll be honoring A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop, Missy, Whodini, the New Jack Swing and Wild Style. Defintely a show to watch. It airs tonight October 8, 2007 at 10pm EST on VH1. Check local listings.
Talib Kweli… The Video’s (prior to the “Ear Drums” review…)

With the release of Talib’s new album “Ear Drums” I figured I’d throw together a medley of dope Talib Kweli featured video’s via you tube. What a career Talib has held down both as a member of groups like Reflection Eternal and Black Star to his successful solo ventures. Da’ Big Playback pays tribute to an already popular icon within the Hip-Hop community. As soon as my work load dies down (ala day job) you’ll be seeing a detailed review on Talib’s new offering “Eardrums.” Enjoy the Video’s before the review!

MC Faceoff - D&B MCs vs UKG MCs
What up party people! The videos above are of a MC Faceoff hosted by BBC 1Xtra (UK) during their Homegrown Weekend special from the early part of this year. Basically they got 3 of the best MCs from each of the two genres Drum & Bass and UK Garage (Grime) and have them face each other. Here are the details:
D&B Team: DJ Sappo (Captain) . Skibadee . MC Fun . Riddla
UKG Team: DJ Richie Vibe Vee (Captain) . D.E.Velopment . Bashy . Doom Man
Round 1: MCs over their own genre
Round 2: UKG MCs on D&B beats and vice versa
Round 3: Both sets of MCs go over “alien” riddims
Peep the vid and check out the lyrical skills of these MCs spittin’ over beats, styles, and accents we don’t usually hear over here.
Ghostface on some real talk about relations (nsfw language)
My man Tony Starks shedding some light on issues concerning relations with the opposite sex.
NSFW language, what’d u expect it’s Ghost.
“PULL IT OUT AND THERE’S AN ELF SHOE!”
Rakim aka King Heron?

Huh?! That’s exactly what I said when I found out that Rakim well be performing as his alter-ego “King Heron”. King Heron?! No disrespect and all to the one of the most talented MCs to grace the mic but, c’mon. I think the last person in this world that needs an “alter-ego” publicity stunt is Rakim. Anyways, we’ll hear more about this come August 5th when he’ll be performing at the Highline Ballroom in NYC headlined by Z-Trip and will feature performances by Gift of Gab, Aceyalone and DJ Phoreyz.
Wu: The Story of The Wu-Tang Clan (Documentary)

If you ever wanted to know the full story of one of the most influential supergroups of hip hop peep this. “Wu: The Story of The Wu-Tang Clan” is a new documentary of the rise, fall, the good and bad times of the Wu-Tang Clan. I’ll be honest for a sec, when I first heard of Wu back in the day was when I first started DJing back in 93. I had picked up URB which was printed on newspaper back then and it was FREE, damn I’m old. Anyways, they had a list of recommendations and Wu-Tang’s - Protect Ya’ Neck was on there, I forgot who recommended it. So I went to my record shop that I frequent back in the day on Melrose and picked up the white label. Being a fan of old Kung Fu movies and of course hiphop, the record blew me away, it was what I’ve always wanted. Since then I’ve always had a deep respect for the Wu as a group and their solo projects so this documentary ties all those things together and hopefully this doc won’t fail to impress.
