…More vintage tracks collected from the 93-95 circa of Hip-Hop are on the horizon. This time around Kutmasta Kurt and Kool Keith unlock previously unreleased tracks from the “Sex Style” archives blessing us with unheard of material packaged in a single disc. Prior to the release of “Dr. Octagon”, KutMasta Kurt and Kool Keith were busy producing tracks as far back as 1993. On the original “Sex Style” album, Keith gets perverted utilizing his new concept dubbed as “pornocore” explicitly spitting flows about sexual Hip-hop escapades. These days, while your typical Rapper gets nasty on the mic by “typically” calling out womens vaginal parts, Keith always kept it a step up and imaginative showcasing his perverted rhyme and creativity through his verbal word play capturing that explicit style we’ve grown to love.

Only in Kool Keiths crazy world… a “Plastic World!”

Distribution to the vinyl and cd of “Sex Style the unreleased archives” is limited. (similar to the “Sex Style” re-issue) Although, for your information- The CD is a 2,500 copy limited-edition digipack release. Each CD has been individually numbered, and includes a 12 page lyric sheet. On the other hand, the 2xLP vinyl is also limited-edition, but this time with only 600 individually signed/autographed and numbered copies available! (added bells and whistles)

For those of you who want to jump on the Sex Style band wagon, be prepared for a funky (underground type) ride. This isn’t the Yin Yang Twins or Nelly getting nasty… It’s Kool Keith’s creative delivery thats on point with his rhymes going over the top in that ridiculous tradition you’ve come to expect. The genesis of that classic Sex Style funk are courtesy of Kutmasta Kurt who’s beats can be compared to a collection of funky, bed rocking porno beats of the 70’s. Just listening to the album as a whole is money well spent. In years past, a number of these tracks were floating around on dubbed cassette tapes and even a few of them wound up on bootlegs Kool Keith albums. Thanks to our good friends at Threshold Recordings, we officially get to hear these archived tracks as the way they should have been intended. A note-worthy collection of b-sides that compliments the original release of “Sex Style.”

The original “Sex Style” has sound scanned well over 35,000 copies to date and this album is an essential companion for any fan of the original 1997 release. In fact with “Sex Style’s” recent limited edition reissue creating a nice buzz at retail, this is the perfect time for this new release to drop. -Threshold Recordings
