What’s good yall? Well, we got two tracks for DL today. Damn, I’m on a roll. Speaking of… the new Pete Rock tune is called ‘We Roll’ featuring Jim Jones, yes BAALLLIN’ Jim Jones, and Max B. It’s backed with ‘Till I Retire’.

‘We Roll’ is one of those tunes that on first listen you’ll say… “that’s Pete Rock.” His signature horns and great drum programming really shines on this track. Pete Rock is just one of those classic producers that takes his time with every little snare, drum kick, fill, sample, etc, and this is a prime example of that. Very SOLID.

‘Till I Retire’ uses a ‘King of Rock’ - Run DMC sample with a very simple beat almost dubby. I actually like this ALOT. It’s a little dark and gloomy but has a lot of vibe to it. I kinda miss that sound in hip hop. Almost Swollen Member-ish circa 99-2001 during ‘Balance’ and ‘Bad Dreams’ years. Check em out.
