Say Word! Spike Jonze, the super director behind infamously dope video’s by The Pharcyde, The Notorious B.I.G., The Beastie Boys, Fatboy Slim and so many others is directing the film adaption to “Where the Wild Things are.” (a Maurice Sendak picture book of the same name) The film is scheduled to drop on October 3, 2008 and stars Catherine Keener, James Gandolfini, Angus Sampson, Benicio Del Toro, Forest Whitaker, Michelle Williams, Catherine O’Hara, Rachel Rivera, Melissa Davis and Paul Dano.W.T.W.T.A. is expected to combine live action, suitmation and CGI.
The plot focuses on (based on the book) the imaginary adventures of a young boy named Max, who is angry after being sent to his room without supper. He then creates a forest inhabited by many large imaginary monsters, who crown him their ruler. It should be really interesting to see how Spike Jonze flips the film! It’s his first major motion picture project and we’ve only come to expect the best from him!
