O.C. “The Underground King” Definitive Hits Collection

These days, Mix CD’s come a dime a dozen. A promotional tool for upcoming releases, exclusive fillers and DJ remixes (both good and bad)… with the abundance of mixtapes out in the market, a lot of them are just as good as flyers… 1 listen and it’s forgotten till the actual album (or event) drops. On the other hand, I came across the closest thing to a greatest hit’ s cd I could find for my man O.C. of D.I.T.C fame. Thank the God’s they did this right! Mixed by the cats over at Next Mill Entertainment, O.C.’s “The Underground King” collects A lot of O.C.’s material that isn’t easy to track down either, and impossible to find if you’re not a vinyl junkie. A lot of the tracks were taken from the “Word..Life” to “Jewelz” era and has some choice cuts featured on Lord Finnesse’s album and numerous vinyl only exclusives.
Though everything after his “Jewelz” album was considered sub par… The tracks on the “Underground King” Mix-cd (just as good as a regular Greatest Hit’s cd) are O.C.’s best by far. There all here- classics like “Times up, War Games (feat. Organized Konfusion) and Word life… to hard to find tracks like “No Gimmicks” and “The Chosen One.” That D.I.T.C. feel is represented throughout the album and is a breath of fresh air to Hip-Hop purists. The best part of this collection is that (at $10 bucks) the CD comes with a bonus DVD that features CLASSIC O.C. video’s and 2 choice cuts from his previous albums.
Realize suckaz, O.C.’s in the building!
