“Strength and Loyalty” Bone Thugs-N-Harmony

Hey Everyone, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony are back. Come to think of it, I believe the last Bone album I’ve ever boughten was 1997’s “The Art of War.” 10 years later and dozens of group and solo releases, Bone has found their way back to the mainstream circuit with the help of Swizz Beats… and the collaboration is a success to the groups sound and it’s loyal fans with “Strength and Loyalty”
Within the past year or 2, Swizz Beats has come up with some nice beats… I wasn’t the biggest Swizz or Bone fan but as of late, their sound and rhyme flow have inspired them to get their act together and take full advantage of their reinstatement to the mainstream label and industry. It works nice for the fans of course who have been craving for a solid release like this. It’s hard for me to be a Bone fan due to the fact that I’ve never really boughten one of their albums for over a decade now. But with the help of Swizz Beats, Will.I.Am, and Akon (to name a few) there’s a renewed sense of excitement peeps have patiently waited for since thair last True Hit “1st of the Month.”
Minus Bizzy Bone on the harmonic stutter Tip, The Current Bone Roster consists of Layzie, Krayzie, and Wish Bone who call in a supporting cast of today’s “hot ticket.” Akon blesses them with 2 tracks. “I tried” has that classic Bone Tempo suitable for radio play. While the other Akon Track “Never Forget me” is straight soulful and gutter. (in good taste) The album also features a number of “What If Bone collaborated with these cat’s” scenario’s. “C-Town” is a team up featuring Twista I would never expect. At a time when I thought Twista had jacked their style, The style and delivery over a chilled out beat works wonders for a playback. “Streets” featuring Will.I.Am and Game is straight heat on the cuts. Will simply impresses us with the wide range of collabo’s he’s able to cater to. Peep the sample to “The Streets” as it revisits Bobby Womack’s timeless “Across 110th Street” in the background. The Game leaves his signature style and ruckus on the track. The Jermaine Dupri Track “Lil’ Love” featuring Bow Wow and Mariah Carey doesn’t seem to work. Bow Weezy shouldn’t have been trying to headline that single. He got eaten up by Bone for that matter. It’s one of those tracks a label A&R probably suggested. Aside from that track, every track from there is listenable.
I’m not officially a Bone fan but I have to give it up to them for making a proper comeback . Down 2 members, Layzie, Krayzie, and Wish Bone sharpened their skills with the help of Swizz in creating an album worth replay on any type of music deck.
